This is a unique opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon ideally with a small animal (but not limited to) background who is interested in applying their clinical expertise in a broader, commercially focused role.</p> <p>In this position, you’ll act as a clinical authority within the commercial function, supporting procurement decisions, supplier relationships and practice-facing initiatives. You’ll help ensure that purchasing decisions are clinically appropriate, commercially sound and aligned with the needs of our practices.<br>This role is predominantly remote (c.95%), and is well suited to clinicians looking to transition out of full-time practice while staying close to clinical decision-making.</p> <p> </p> <p><br><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p> <p><strong>Clinical insight & procurement support</strong></p> <p>*Provide clinical expertise to support supplier negotiations, contracting and product selection<br>*Contribute to global and local procurement initiatives<br>*Evaluate the suitability, safety and value of clinical products<br>*Monitor the veterinary supply chain and identify emerging supply or cost risks<br>*Support cost-saving and standardisation initiatives across practices</p> <p><strong>Exceptions & product guidance</strong></p> <p>*Provide clinical oversight of requests outside the Buy List<br>*Advise practices on clinically appropriate, cost-effective alternatives<br>*Balance clinical need with commercial considerations<br>*Identify recurring exceptions and compliance trends</p> <p><strong>Stakeholder & operational support</strong></p> <p>*Act as a key liaison between Procurement, the Clinical Board and practices<br>*Support out-of-stock management and alternative sourcing<br>*Assist with onboarding new clinical products outside tender cycles<br>*Create clear guidance and communications for practices<br>*Participate in internal and supplier meetings</p> <p>Expect a varied working week and plenty of opportunity to apply clinical judgement in a new context.</p> <p> </p> <p><br><strong>About you</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential</strong><br>*Qualified Veterinary Surgeon and Member of the RCVS<br>*Strong clinical experience (small animal preferred)<br>*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills<br>*Confidence handling complex or sensitive discussions with practices and suppliers</p> <p><strong>Desirable</strong><br>*Experience as a Clinical Director, Lead Vet or in a senior clinical role<br>*Exposure to procurement, commercial or supplier-facing environments<br>*Understanding of veterinary pharmaceutical and consumables supply chains<br>*Comfortable working with data (e.g. Excel analysis)</p> <p>You don’t need previous commercial experience we welcome applications from vets transitioning directly from practice but you should be curious, pragmatic and keen to influence decisions at scale.</p> <p> </p> <p><br><strong>Why join us?</strong></p> <p>Competitive salary and bonus<br>Flexible, remote-first working model<br>Opportunity to shape procurement decisions impacting hundreds of practices<br>Collaborative team of clinical and non-clinical professionals<br>A chance to use your veterinary expertise in a strategic, business-critical role</p> <p></p><p><br></p><p></p>
